Home to the iconic Hollywood sign and entertainment industry leaders, Hollywood Hills sits at the heart of Los Angeles and has become a globally recognized neighborhood name. This area is mostly residential, and homes here are situated along hilly, winding roads lined with hedges, palm trees and various other desert plant life. Students here are zoned for the Los Angeles Unified School District, or LAUSD, which receives an overall B-plus rating from Niche.

One of the most well-known residential areas in Hollywood Hills – Beachwood Canyon – is host to a number of early 20th-century homes that feature classic Spanish and Mediterranean architecture, according to Ware. There are also a handful of townhouse units and two-bedroom residences here that start around $800,000, while most single-family homes in this neighborhood tend to cost between $1.5 and $3 million.

Hollywood is synonymous with the American entertainment industry, so it’s no surprise that this neighborhood is home to a large music and film scene.  The Hollywood Bowl, which first opened in 1922, has become a famous concert venue and destination for live music performances and events. From The Beatles to Billie Holliday, the Hollywood Bowl has seen some of the biggest names in the industry perform on its stage. Just south of the neighborhood is The Hollywood Museum, where museumgoers can explore the world’s largest Hollywood memorabilia collection.
