How much should I expect to negotiate on price?

Negotiation depends heavily on market conditions. In a seller’s market, homes often sell at or above asking with minimal negotiation. In a buyer’s market, you may expect 1–5% off list price depending on demand and condition. Preparation matters. A well-staged, clean, move-in-ready home allows you to negotiate more firmly than a property that needs repairs.
